On December 1, 2024, Hantech Medical officially took over the Italian CareFusion facility of Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD).
Hantech Medical acquired the Italian CareFusion facility in its entirety, including the land, buildings, equipment and all other assets. BD has signed a manufacturing services agreement with Hantech Medical and will continue to source products and services from the CareFusion facility.
The Italian Facility at a Glance
Established in 1973, the Italian facility currently employs 125 people and occupies a total area of 49,389 square metres.
The site includes a Class 100,000 cleanroom, laboratories, a tooling workshop, research and testing facilities, and warehouses. The facility performs strongly across key operational indicators, including safety, compliance, quality, delivery, cost, team performance and ESG.
In 2025, the facility received orders worth USD 18.43 million.
Located in northern Italy, the facility is approximately a 45-minute drive from Venice and Bologna, and around one hour from Mirandola, the world's third-largest medical device cluster.

Turn Key Day: Celebrating the Handover
To celebrate the completion of the acquisition, representatives of Hantech Medical and BD gathered in Italy for a handover ceremony, marking an important milestone for the facility.
The event included speeches by representatives of both companies, the symbolic handover of a commemorative key bearing the logos of BD and Hantech Medical, and celebrations with employees of the Italian facility.
The programme also featured employee performances, a traditional Chinese Tai Chi demonstration and a group singing performance, reflecting the cultural exchange and team spirit shared by colleagues from China and Italy.

The ceremony marked the formal handover of the facility and the beginning of a new chapter for the Italian team within Hantech Medical.
